Our Founders
Trek Global was founded by well-respected ERP business leaders with decades of hands-on experience building enterprise-class software solutions for clients. After meeting nearly twenty years ago, our “two Joels,” as we like to refer to them, went on to assemble a highly productive group of software engineers, programmers, testers, project managers and systems integrators that today is the Trek Global team.
Joel Stangeland, Chief Executive Officer
With nearly 2 decades of leadership in the IT industry, Joel Stangeland brings to Trek Global a strong background in software development and project management. He was an early adopter of cloud technology. Among early projects Joel held integral leadership roles were serving as COO of Idalica, where he assembled a team of experienced ERP consultants and developers and drove the design of the ADempiere ERP system. This contribution grew the company from ground level to peak revenues of $2.4 million. Joel’s earlier experience also includes project management developing a web application with a $9 million annual ROI on process improvement, as well as SAP implementation and upgrades using the ASAP methodology, resulting in a measurable return on a multimillion dollar implementation in less than one year.
Joel has a strong desire to give back to the community. He volunteers with Technology Association of Oregon and Oregon Entrepreneurs Network, chairing their Enterprise Architects committee with the purpose of building the valuable skill set in our local community. He is a volunteer mentor with WSU-Vancouver Mentor and Analysis Program (MAP), which gives students real-life consulting experience while helping local businesses improve in their operations and market opportunities.
Joel Hoffman, Chief Operations Officer
Joel Hoffman’s extensive experience with large software solutions includes numerous years focused on SAP implementations and data warehousing. Since 2006, he has become heavily involved with highly customized ERP projects, including a number of open source ERP solutions. He has led projects ranging from streamlining manufacturing and warehousing processes to developing custom web stores with payment and shipping integrations. Joel has also integrated EDI partners into many local ADempiere installations, supporting EDI transactions with major vendors such as Amazon, Nordstrom and Home Shopping Network.
